LONGVIEW, Texas – Accomplished attorney Johnny Ward of the East Texas law firm Ward, Smith & Hill, PLLC, is being recognized as one of the nation’s top Intellectual property lawyers by earning selection to The Best Lawyers in America for 2016.
This is the first time that Mr. Ward has been chosen for the annual listing of leading U.S. lawyers. His selection was based on independent nominations and a review of his work by other attorneys who handle intellectual property cases. That review was then analyzed by Best Lawyers before Mr. Ward’s final selection.

In June, Mr. Ward and Ms. Henry helped client DataQuill Ltd. score a significant verdict against China-based ZTE Corp. in a dispute over mobile phone technology. Less than a month later, Mr. Hill helped the surviving family members of Dallas inventor Charles Freeny Jr. secure a multimillion-dollar infringement verdict against Arkansas-based Murphy USA Inc.
